Legendary Bloodlines and Foundation Pedigree
Page 1 · Page 2 · Kings Snake

As stated in the American Paint Horse by Glynn W. Haynes, "It has been difficult to trace with any safe degeree of accuracy the ancestry of a large number of the earliest paint horses, particularly the paint mares. While most breeders of twenty and thirty years ago were quite selective in their breeding practices, they were not recordkeepers. The sire, his sire, and the grandsire were known in most instances, but little attention was given to the maternal side of the horses pedigree. The lack of historical information on the lineage of many individuals has caused confusion among breeders and has perplexed those who rely on some genetic basis for planning their breeding programs."

This is the case with Kings Snake. From research the breeder has done, we conclude that Kings Snake granddam's sire was Hickory King. His great granddam was a daughter of Buckskin Pete. This is not recognized by the APHA, but time and research proves this to be factual information.
