Our
Rockin' History . . .
In the early 70s,
Dianne purchased her first paint horse. At that time, paints
were in the beginning stages of popularity. Doing her own
training, Dianne started showing her horses at open, 4-H,
and paint shows. This was the beginning of Dianne's lifelong
pursuit promoting and raising paint horses. Her success of
winning state and local high point awards, Register of Merits,
State Fair trips and numerous trophies were an incentive for
her passion to develop.
As the years have passed, horses have always been a
part of family life. Dianne and her husband Jack live near
Trimont, Minnesota with sons Nick and James. They are located
in the southwestern part of Minnesota in the middle of farm
country. Their site includes a large indoor arena, smaller
outdoor training arena, round pen and a recently converted
horse barn. The pasture has a creek with trees and rolling
hills. This facility serves the diverse interests of the family.
Rockin’ A’s horses are the product a breeding program
that was established in 1958, concentrating on using only
the best sons and daughters, of legendary sires, King and
Leo. The family's main goal is to keep high percentages of
foundation quarter horse blood, because of the athletic ability,
kind trainable mind, intelligence, class, cow sense, and the
speed to excel on the ranch, at the rodeo, or the performance
arena. Rockin’ A has added several 100% foundation quarter
horse mares to their breeding program. Many of the mares and
all stallions are without Doc Bar blood.
Something that you don’t see much of these days! The mares
are good mothers, easy breeders, and trace back to foundation
lines of King and Leo.All horses possess solid minds, along
with good feet and legs. The stallions are quiet, kind, gentle
with dense bone, ideal conformation, beautiful heads and the
ability and mind to do the job. The family enjoys raising,
training, and selling horses from their breeding program.
Actually….these horses sell themselves.
The family is varied in their horse interests. Son's
Nick and James are trainers, farrier, and horse breeders as
well as active in their showing and rodeo endeavors. James
is a senior at NAU in Rapid City, SD majoring in Applied Management.
Nick is employed at his alma mater high school, Martin County
West in Sherburn, MN.
